Smart Play: Virtual Personal DJ app
MP4 Stream Editor's Smart Play (virtual personal DJ) functionality lets you select a profile and the app. will automatically and endlessly select and play songs from your music library that match the profile.
There are default profiles but creating new custom profiles is easy and straightforward. Select "Settings..." from the drop-down list to edit or create new Smart Play profiles.
This feature requires a song database, menu: "Song Database/Manage...". Note that the database will be automatically updated every time in the background 1 minute after starting the app..
The profiles support the following criterias:
- Genre tag in the song file and the path and file name
- Title tag in the song file and the path and file name
- Release date and recording date tag in the song file and the path
- Custom specified tag with a custom specified value in the song file
Mathces are returned with ORing the criterias, if a file contains a matching genre it will be returned even if for exampe the specified title does not match.
The lists, for example genre, is processed in OR mode too, so if at least 1 genre matches from the list then the file will be considered as a match and played when the specific profile is selected.
The songs played are remembered, the remember list size is specified with "Don't play song again in" value.
When a song is played it is added to the remember list and will not be played again until playing "Don't play song again in" count other songs.
Note that if the profile contains less songs than the remember count, the playing will stop after all songs in the profile are played.
It's possible to change profile mid-playback, just select a different profile and the next song will be enqueued from the new selected profile.
